We had trained for the 2022 Looe Island Swim and booked into Marrons Haven from Thursday 29th September to ,Monday the 3rd October - 6 ladies from the Goring Gulls West Sussex. On the way down to Cornwall we learnt that the swim had been cancelled due to bad weather - but that wasn't going to stop us swimming in different more sheltered locations and having fun!
Arriving late on the Thursday night in two cars the only thing to do was grab a pint of cider in one of the many local pubs within about 50 meters from Marrons! :-) Sleeping 6 in 2 Double beds and 1 King size, worked out great as there are also 2 bathrooms and hairdryers in every bedroom.
Friday for me was the best day, based around Polperro - dipping early at 8 am with the Mad Maids of Polperro - completing the 1.2 mile swim to satisfy our sponsors in the harbour, followed by jumping off the harbour wall at high tide...then at low tide swimming in Chapel Pool and venturing out of the pool and swimming among the swaying kelp spotting star fish and other marine life - the water was crystal clear!
